| One
early morning I woke up and had an idea running through my
head that I just couldn't shake. I wanted to help make the
lives of handicapped children in wheelchairs more accepting
and personable.
The
name "Perki Wheels" came to mind. I would make removable
topper pads in fun prints that a child in a wheelchair could
relate to, and hopefully make their lives better.
I
became handicapped in 2005 after an ankle injury. After
many unsuccessful surgeries, I am left disabled and walk
with a brace. I also use a wheelchair in my home so I can
keep the pressure off my ankle. I understand what a life
in a wheelchair is like. I want to make the life of a handicapped
child more meaningful.

These
pads are not meant to provide special support but to sit on
top of the chair. The pads are made out of fleece with fun,
colorful prints. The bottom pad is waterproof, and the fabric
can be removed to wash. The back is lightly padded and goes
up and over the back and ties underneath.
I
have various prints in stock, but the pads can be special
ordered.
